Director: Edward Dryhurst
Release Date: November 1930
The release date for this very late silent film, which was completed in March 1930, is somewhat debatable but it was shown at the Majestic, Wrexham, in November 1930. However, the Kinematograph Weekly, 8 January 1931, reported that the film was to be released 5 March.
Capture 1
The signage strongly suggests that this is the north side of Leadenhall Street with the opening to Shaft's Court at the left. The car, meanwhile, is waiting for Gibb McLaughlin to exit the building as Laurie Leslie stands by the doorway.
Capture 2
McLaughlin joining Leslie in Leadenhall Street where the next street, to the right, is St. Mary Axe.
Capture 3
As McLaughlin leaves, to the left, the view is of the south side of Leadenhall Street where the plaque appears to read 'Site of East India House.'
Capture 4
Uncertain. I don't know the location of 'Old Isleworth Post Office' but I think Tony Wylde is heading south along Upper Square facing South Street.
Capture 5
Unidentified. Wylde waits as Julie Suedo's taxi approaches.
Capture 6
Unidentified. The taxi pulls up.
Capture 7
Unidentified. Wylde and Suedo having a chat.
Capture 8
Unidentified. Wylde chasing Frances Cuyler's taxi.
Capture 9
Unidentified. More of the same street.
Capture 10
Unidentified. The chase reaches a second street.
Capture 11
Unidentified. A third street as Wylde climbs aboard.
Capture 12
Cuyler and Wylde on a bridge spanning a branch of the River Brent. Behind them, with the three dormer windows, is The Brewery Tap, Catherine Wheel Road, Brentford.
Capture 13
Unidentified. Presumably in the Brentford area as Leslie keeps an eye on Wylde and Cuyler.
Capture 14
They cross the bridge where the building may be Staffordshire House.
Capture 15
Unidentified. A body being found in the River Thames. I suspect that's an island to the left.
Capture 16
Unidentified. The body being brought ashore.
Capture 17
Cuyler leaving the Leadenhall Street building.
Capture 18
Unidentified. Wylde's view from a window, presumably into the River Brent.
