On 7 July 1949 the Kinematograph Weekly noted that ‘Alfred Hitchcock spent a week-end shooting South Audley Street, London, with two cameras and 60 extras for exterior scenes and background material for “Stage Fright.” Two active camera crews in the street attracted a crowd, and police were called in to clear a traffic jam….’
