Director: Val Guest

Release Date: February 1954

In his autobiography, So You Want to Be in Pictures (2001), Val Guest recalled that ‘I sat down and wrote a lightweight comedy-thriller called The Runaway Bus, about a British European Airways bus driver, Frankie, who gets lost in a fog with a coachload of passengers, some of whom are up to no good. I persuaded Margaret Rutherford to be in it and agree to top billing and somehow was able to get the whole project off the ground so that just over a month later we were actually shooting at London Airport.’
