On 29 September 1932 the Kinematograph Weekly reported that ‘Over 2,000 people gathered in Walpole Park, Ealing, at the week-end to watch Gloria Swanson at work on exterior scenes for “Perfect Understanding.” The scenes showed different episodes of Gloria’s and Laurence Olivier’s “getaway” for their honeymoon in a blue Puss Moth. Sir Nigel Playfair, uncle to the bridegroom; Michael Farmer and Genevieve Tobin, friends of the bride; and a festive crowd of tenants and villagers, saw the happy couple off and gave them good advice. Giant arc-lamps were used to produce brilliant sunlight.’
