It was reported in Kinematograph Weekly, 16 April 1946, that ‘location scenes in East London’ were completed. On June 9 The People added that ‘Many readers in North and East London have seen Kay [Kathleen Ryan] and [James] Mason at work during the shooting of street scenes.’ While Mason appears in scenes shot on location in London Ryan’s scenes appear to have ended up on the cutting room floor, or perhaps she was only a visitor to the location shooting.
