On 8 June 1939 the Kinematograph Weekly reported that ‘Ideal location weather has enabled producer Jack Kitchin to send the Formby “Come On, George” unit out for several uninterrupted days of outdoor shooting’ including ‘the Northolt racecourse’ where ‘George Formby once again impressed spectators by his splendid horsemanship in the racing sequences which were then being shot. Jockeys attached to the course nodded approvingly at the manner in which, under George’s guidance, his horse, Diana, did all that the camera and good racing required of her.’ The racecourse was north of Northolt Station and north of Mandeville Road which appears to have been named Ealing Road at the time of filming.
