On 14 July 1967 the Chelsea News reported that ‘Chelsea Town Hall was turned into a courtroom on Tuesday for filming of “Up the Junction” the film based on the controversial book by Putney author Nell Dunn.’ Peter Collinson explained ‘I chose Chelsea Town Hall for the courtroom scene because it’s such a lovely old hall and also because it’s not far from Battersea, where we are doing most of the shooting.’ The Middlesex Chronicle added, 18 August, that the former Brentford Police Station in the High Street was used ‘About three weeks ago’ when ‘sequences for a feature film of the television success “Up the Junction” were filmed there.’
