Director: Gerry O'Hara
Release Date: January 1963
The film’s director has recalled, see booklet with BFI Flipside dvd, ‘the first day of shooting on That Kind of Girl at a bungalow in Mill Hill, north London.’ The scene isn’t identified but it probably refers to views of the home of Linda Marlowe’s character. The Chelsea News and General Advertiser, 28 September 1962, noted that ‘A documentary [sic] film “That Kind of Girl,” was being shot at Chelsea Community Centre [385 King’s Road] on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. For one part of the film, the blue police lamp which was once always outside the centre building – once one of Chelsea’s two police stations – was again put up.’ The Kensington News and West London Times added, 19 October 1962, ‘The Overseas Visitors Club in [180] Earls Court Road became the hub of Kensington last Friday when a complete film unit moved in and transformed its basement premises into a modern continental-type coffee bar. This scene was just a minute part of the £150,000 film’.
