The Daily Mirror, 31 March 1967, reported that Carol White had been shooting Poor Cow the previous day in Chelsea while the same day’s Nottingham Guardian noted that she had been ‘on location in Fulham’ yesterday. A rather detailed report in the Middlesex Chronicle, 7 April, added that ‘On Monday [3 April], the camera crew were filming at the corner of Staines Road and Wellington Road, Hounslow, and on Tuesday at Kingsley Road, and Westbourne House, Wheatlands Village, Heston.’ The report also mentioned that filming took place in Cecil Road, Hounslow, while none of these locations are discernible in the finished film. A second report of 7 April, in the Fulham Chronicle, noted that ‘Passers-by along Fulham Road were surprised when they were invited to take part in a film scene in a Walham Green cafe.’ The report added that filming had already taken place for ‘sequences in North End Road and Walham Green.’ A third report of 7 April, in the Chelsea News, added that ‘A little World’s End street, soon to be pulled down to make way for the big redevelopment scheme is taking a place in history before it finally disappears. Raasay Street is the scene of a smart modern movie “Poor Cow,” starring the girl from “Cathy Come Home,” Carol White. Several of the scenes are being shot in the streets of World’s End, Chelsea, and some inside the house of No. 6 Raasay Street.’ It was also noted that the film company had also taken over No. 8 and that ‘Shots have already been taken in Ginos Cafe, Fulham Road, and parts of Fulham.’ If Raasay Street, which ran between Edith Grove and Dartrey Road, features in the film it appears to be impossible to identify. The Derby Evening Telegraph, 18 May, noted that ‘In a slummy street in the South London borough of Elephant and Castle [sic] stood an impressive caravan which created a stir in the neighbourhood.’ The caravan was Terence Stamp’s, and parked near The Palatinate, Walworth, with the actor observing ‘”Pretty rough surroundings, aren’t they?” he asked. “It’s tragic that this is what some folk must call home.”‘
