On 27 August 1942 the Kinematograph Weekly reported that ‘location work’ had taken place ‘in the quiet London square, where Roger Livesey brings his bride Deborah Kerr to his family home.’ The same publication noted, 8 October 1942, that ‘Whilst Michael Powell had been busy in the studio, he has had two units on exteriors for the past three weeks, shooting the thrilling opening sequences. Richard Vernon is in charge, with Geoffrey Unsworth in charge of the cameras.’
