On the 6 September 1946 The Middlesex Advertiser and County Gazette published a letter from the producer John Boulting thanking the residents ‘in Bridge Road, for their patience and co-operation last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.’ Filming, for the scenes showing hunger marchers, had taken place on the 2-4 September in Bridge Road, Uxbridge.
