On 3 March, 1927, The Bioscope reported that filming took place at ‘Maida Vale Station at midnight on Saturday…..showing Ivor Novello on what may be taken as the first stage of his downhill journey’ while ‘it is interesting to note that this is the first time than an escalator has been used for screen purposes.’
