On 27 July 1956 the Halifax Evening Courier noted Richard Attenborough, Ian Carmichael and Jill Adams had been ‘filming outdoors in Highgate, London’ however the location referred to was Grove Terrace, Dartmouth Park. The Liverpool Echo added, 8 August, that the film unit had moved ‘into Middle Temple Lane’ with the Coventry Evening Telegraph reporting , 30 August, the ‘shooting of scenes in the Strand’.
