Director: Herbert Wilcox

Release Date: April 1948

On 15 February 1948 the Sunday Pictorial noted that ‘The ghost of Sir Henry Irving must have shuddered this week when Anna Neagle and Michael Wilding spent the entire day at the Lyceum jitterbugging for the final sequence of “Spring in Park Lane.” Herbert Wilcox, not normally at a loss in show business matters, found himself out of his depth when all the hop-cats started cutting no mean rug.’ In 1945 the theatre had been coverted to a Mecca Dancing venue.  Wilcox makes no reference to this, or any other location shots concerning this film, in his 1967 autobiography.
